Health is a Matter of the Heart

Self-love is more than feeling good about yourself. It entails an overall appreciation that grows from the actions you take to live your best life, including physical, psychological, and spiritual growth.

Self-love is essential to achieving optimal health and wellbeing. Consider these tips as you love yourself to health:

Decide YOU are important. Make yourself a priority. You are important enough to allow change in your life and your overall wellbeing, so be compassionate and kind to yourself, and accept that making meaningful changes happens over time.

Become mindful. People who have more self-love tend to know what they think, feel, and want. As a result, they are mindful of who they are and act on this knowledge, rather than on what others want for them.

Practice self-care. Take care of your basic needs by making time in your day for healthy activities, such as sound nutritional choices, exercising, getting proper sleep. Equally as important are the healthy relationships you establish, whether it’s building a stronger rapport with me, your Health Coach, or strengthening relationships with others in your community.

Be consistent. Consistency is key! It will yield positive results and a fulfilling experience. If you happen to experience a setback, just acknowledge it, identify what went wrong, and then get right back in the game. The longer you dwell on any shortcoming, the longer it will take to get back on track.

Celebrate your successes! It’s critical that you reward your efforts and hard work while learning and implementing new, healthy habits. Recognize your accomplishments as you hit milestones, both big and small. This will motivate you to continue working toward your goals.
